Kenneth M. Slack

President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Mr. Slack has a BS in Metallurgical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and has completed graduate level studies in advanced process control at the University of Queensland, Australia, JKMRC. He joined Performance Associates in 1995 and is currently the executive in charge of Performance Associates’ plant operations services. In this capacity, he has managed the development and implementation of plant operations and mobile equipment training programs around the world. Mr. Slack has more than 35 years of experience in the mining industry in the areas of grinding and flotation, precious metals metallurgy, and iron ore beneficiation.

Stephen R. Brown

Chairman Emeritus

Mr. Brown has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University and a MS in Management from the University of Arkansas. He is one of the founders of Performance Associates. Performance Associates incorporated in California in 1984 and subsequently moved to Tucson, Arizona, incorporating there in 1994. Mr. Brown has more than 35 years of mining industry experience, specifically in the areas of non-metallic minerals, copper smelting, base and precious metals mineral processing, and iron ore beneficiation.

Rion Westfall

Business Development

Mr. Westfall has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Arizona and has completed graduate level studies in business administration. He joined Performance Associates in 2012. Mr. Westfall speaks fluent Spanish and has more than 15 years of experience in development and execution of world-wide mining projects including preliminary studies, cost estimates, engineering design, procurement, construction management, and operations and maintenance.
